Then vote to end our lives
And perpetuate public restrooms
As a place we have to hide

Then look the other way
As another Trans POC
Is erased from the page

When you uphold a system
Upholding the hegemony
Preventing real wisdom

You cannot say you love us
And then go wash your hands
Free from any effort
That allyship demands

When you say you love me
All that I can hear
Are the things that you support
To perpetuate my fear

When you say you love me
In spite of what you allow
To alleviate your guilt
But it won’t save you now

Before you say you love us
Ask yourself inside
Have you bothered to protect us
Or your ego driven pride?

Please don’t say you love us
If it’s too much to ask
That you google for yourself
Answers beyond my pants

When you say you love us
Does it really mean
That you’ve rejected forces
That deny humanity?

If your love words are empty
Please don’t be surprised
If we don’t pat you on the back
And reward you for your lies
