God Forbid- Inner Workings of The Cult of the Ego
I must say, I am loving all of the amazing documentaries out there right now.
If you don’t want me to spoil it for you, stop after this sentence and go watch “God Forbid: The Scandal That Brought Down a Dynasty.” I watched it on Disney+ with Hulu.
****SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT****
I wasn’t even looking for anything to tie into the blog, but this show certainly did.
Giancarlo, in a brave and candid interview, gives a detailed look at the inner workings of The Cult of the Ego.
He has some certain authority on the issue. He was nearly as controlled as Virginia Guiffre, a recently deceased woman who was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell in her youth.
I recommend watching the hour-and-a-half documentary, but this snip covers quite a bit.
Giancarlo was seduced by Rev. Jerry Falwell Jr. and his wife, for use in their cuckolding fantasies as good Christian trendsetters. In fact, they used every incentive that young white American men are conditioned to want in order to seduce, and then later control Giancarlo- sex, alcohol, money, power, success, everything our young men are supposed to focus on.
So they lure him in, and they’re actually pretty public about it, which only reinforces awareness of how powerful they are, because these are evangelical Christians. These are the “Moral Majority,” responsible for getting presidents like Reagan and Trump elected.
They used power as bait, and they withheld access to power in order to control Giancarlo. They did the same for countless young white Americans, as Jerry was the president of Liberty University- a factory for cranking out white supremacists and birthers.
They used a code called the “Liberty Way” coerce behavior and conformity from all of the university students, much like the hazing found in Greek Life.
On the surface, the code looks like a moral high ground.
In practice, everyone from the top down was engaging in debauchery, and if you were “in” you got away with it and felt righteous, and if you were “out,” it would be used against you.

The story continues, through business endeavors, and entanglement with Donald Trump and his “fixer,” Michael Cohen. They detail the real estate dealings, and tax evasion that is typical of the religious right, and reveal the SCRIPTs used to recruit masses of followers.
While this is all going on, they’re waging war on pornographers, abortion, gay rights, and anything else they can marginalize, despite their personal behavior.

I 10/10 recommend giving it a watch. It is a good demonstration of grooming, trafficking, corruption, and the maintenance of The Cult of the Ego.
