Emotional Ambush- A Cycle I’m Still Trying To Break
I spent a lot of time telling myself that the things I went through weren’t that bad, that I deserved them, that I was feeling sorry for myself and blowing everything out of proportion.
I would feel ashamed that it still hurts so bad. Like I didn’t have a right to my pain.
Emotional Ambushes are a subtle dynamic with a big effect.
An emotional ambush can reinforce a child’s fear of invisibility.
It actually has such an impact it can determine a child’s risk behaviors as an adult.
I still cry when I watch these videos.
