The More You Know
In a time when censorship is on the rise, and witnessing in real time how in some states even the ability to say “gay” or teach about the factual events of history have been outlawed, I’m forced to confront how much I don’t know.
I’m a researcher by nature and design. Before I was done with school, I’d taken 5 courses in research methods.
Even being quite driven to find information, it’s incredibly time consuming, (especially so given how much my computer fights me). My piece on Intersex Genetics for example took an entire day to find and cultivate sources. It’s worth every second spent, but I need to know a LOT and I need to know it before it disappears.
So, I’ve started asking my AI assistant, Copilot, and it’s amazing. Copilot can weed out the duds, and brings me pretty decent sources, (although it does seem to have a strange reliance on Wikipedia).
I didn’t know that we have over 200 concentration camps, but I do now.
I didn’t know that the cities being militarized overlap significantly with the destinations of The Great Migration, but I do now.
I didn’t know about Groypers, but I do now.
There are many things that I had suspicions of, but I understand them clearly now, or it’s led me to ask better questions.
I still have so many more questions about the racial history of the United States, and Political Science, and even how to run my blog. I’ll keep asking, and sharing those here.

What do you think?
