Camp Hope Volunteer Opportunities!!

We NEED You
AND ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS

Guardians

– We need to create a 24/7 presence at Camp Hope LRC.
– We need at least 2 Guardian advocates in the field at the LRC at all times.
– Volunteers need to be trained for safety/self defense/human trafficking.
– We will need to continue this presence indefinitely.
– The City is getting more creative, and they are blitzing more often, and round-the-clock.
– Ideally, I need 5-7 dedicated, well-regulated advocates to lead this team.
– This team is there to document events and offer moral and community support. We are NOT there to interfere.

Messengers

– We need Messenger advocates to work the “phone tree.”
– These volunteers will bridge communication between the field and the bigger team.
– Messengers will also help gather and log notes/files from the field.

Transport

– We have volunteers who may need rides to-from the field.
– There are times we need supplies in the field, and the Guardian can’t leave.
– In the event of an all-hands-on-deck, Transport advocates can enhance our presence on the scene.

Food

– There is a continual need to feed people.
– Several groups are working to feed people, but we need more.

Street Education

– Working to keep the unhoused community informed about
– Tactics being used,
– Which laws and rights are at play (not LEGAL advice, just sharing public knowledge).
– Current developments with the City, etc.
– Develop and deliver ongoing training for the unhoused AND the community.

Research Data and Evidence

– Data Management
– Organization
– Entry
– Analysis
– Techy Stuff
– Internet Magic
– Gadgets for the Cause

Outreach

– Cultivate relationships with other helping organizations.
– Work closely with Media to create guides to these resources.
-Interactive calendar

Media

– Create educational guides, community tools, visuals, and handouts.
– Draft daily press releases.
– Distribute to social media.

Cutting Room

– Organize, Store, Refine, and Polish footage from the field.
– Work with Media to create engaging social media memes and videos.

Print Shop

– Print out items for distribution.
– Compile handouts of all kinds.

Recruitment

-Help bring people into the cause.
– Tell interested parties who to contact, and how to get started.
– Convey the mission to the community

Performers

– Join a troupe of activist performers to push the boundaries of public comment and impactful activism.
